Auto Body Painter

Position Summary

The Auto Body Painter is responsible for preparing, refinishing, and painting vehicles to manufacturer and customer specifications. This role requires a high level of craftsmanship, precision, and efficiency while maintaining Xclusive Auto Collision's reputation for premium-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and components for paint by sanding, masking, priming, and cleaning surfaces
• Mix and match paint colors using computerized and manual color-matching systems
• Apply primers, base coats, clear coats, and specialty finishes using professional spray equipment
• Perform blending techniques to achieve seamless paint transitions and OEM-quality finishes
• Inspect painted surfaces for quality, consistency, and defects, completing polishing and refinishing as required
• Work closely with body technicians and the production team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of repairs
• Maintain paint booth cleanliness, equipment, and tools in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and shop standards
• Follow all safety procedures related to paint materials, hazardous waste disposal, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
• Absorb and assist with custom paint projects, restorations, and specialty refinishing as required
• Maintain accurate records of paint materials used and communicate any supply or equipment needs to management
• Take pride in delivering exceptional workmanship while meeting production deadlines

Requirements

• Previous experience as an Auto Body Painter in a collision repair or automotive refinishing environment
• Strong understanding of automotive paint systems, refinishing techniques, and color matching
• Experience using HVLP spray equipment and modern paint mixing systems
• Ability to read repair orders and follow manufacturer repair and refinishing procedures
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred
