Auto Body Paint & Wheel Repair Technician
About the role
Car Keys Express is the world’s first online retailer of automotive keys and remotes and the largest single-vendor solution for replacement keys and automotive reconditioning. In 2018, we introduced Car Care Express, offering mobile vehicle reconditioning services for businesses and consumers, including paintless dent repair, paint touch-up, headlight restoration, and repairs to wheels, windshields, and interiors.
The Auto Body Paint & Repair Technician will repair and paint automotive cosmetic damage using both solvent and water-based base-coat/clear-coat systems. You will also paint surfaces of wheels using spray-painting equipment, power tools, and work aids with specific surface preparation and painting techniques. This role includes developing and maintaining a weekly sales route in your territory to maximize profits, managing inventory, audits, and accurate logs of sales stops.
Responsibilities
- Maintain business relationships to increase clients’ profits
- Maintain excellent customer relationships to ensure longevity of accounts
- Drive company van to dealerships and fleet operations in your metro area
- Walk and write up car lots for customer approval
- Inspect vehicle body surface and wheels for repair, prepping, and/or buffing defects
- Mix specific colors using standard formulas or color charts
- Perform paint repairs and refinishing to company standards using spray-painting equipment and power tools
- Sand, mask, blend, and polish finish; apply or retouch paint as necessary
- Work with accounts or sales managers regularly to improve service quality
- Service retail customers when necessary
- Report to assigned routes and establish accounts daily to service repairs in a timely manner
Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years of automotive paint experience (wheel repair experience is a bonus)
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 21 years of age with a valid Driver’s license
- Vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Sales and customer service experience
- Determination to succeed and professional demeanor
- General computer skills
- Some experience with route sales preferred
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, and ability to work independently
- Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, climb, and perform repetitive motion tasks
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (tools, dyes, paints, wheels, etc.)
- Safe place to park company van

Schedule
Normal business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Pay
Generous commission plan with a guaranteed daily minimum. Year 1 average earnings range from $55,000 to $65,000. Includes base salary, commission, and bonus opportunities.
