Auto Body Apprentice

Key Job Responsibilities

• Aid in performing basic auto body repairs, such as dent removal, sanding, and painting.
• Undergo training to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Participate in vehicle inspections to identify damages and develop repair plans.
• Collaborate with team members to complete repair projects within specified timelines and quality standards.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment by following all safety protocols.

Education And/or Experience Required

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• Trade/Vocational school graduates preferred
• Some on-the-job experience is preferred
• I-CAR Gold Class preferred

Required Skills And Abilities

• At least 18 years of age
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand for long periods of time
• Able to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Able to visually inspect vehicle damage in various weather conditions
• Able to use hands efficiently in handling vehicle parts
• Strong interest in the automotive industry and a desire to learn and develop technical skills
• Basic knowledge of auto body repair techniques and tools preferred but not required
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude toward learning and problem-solving
• Reliable transportation to commute to the workplace

• Maintain a well-groomed appearance
• Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times
• Perform all assigned activities according to the Standardized Operating Procedures of the company
• Strive to improve the efficiency of the production department and overall company operation
• Participate in training programs as required
• Extend normal working hours as necessary to accommodate workload and customer requirements

Requirements To Qualify For Entry Into TDP

• Mentor agrees to accept trainee
• No unplanned absences
• No tardiness violations
• Works with selected mentor for 90% or more of the 30-day time frame
• Passes final Pre-TDP assessment
• Mentor signs training agreement
