Auto and General Liability Claims Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct investigations to analyze and evaluate claim information
• Make coverage determinations and communicate positions to insureds
• Set expense and indemnity reserves within prescribed authority levels
• Present cases to management for higher authority reserve approval
• Develop resolution strategies for high quality outcomes
• Manage litigation and defense counsel, including planning and budgeting
• Attend trials and mediations as necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; law degree a plus
• Minimum of seven years handling complex litigated coverage and liability matters
• Results-oriented with a focus on achieving bottom line results
• Superior analytical and organizational skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong strategic thinking and execution abilities
• Advanced technical claim handling, including knowledge of coverage and tort laws
