About the Role
The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Support Specialist plays a vital role in supporting children and adolescents with ASD across structured environments such as clinical, educational, or home-based settings. This position focuses on implementing evidence-based interventions, promoting developmental progress, and assisting with behavioral and therapeutic needs to enhance daily functioning and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Support children or adolescents with ASD in clinical, school, or home-based environments based on project scope
- Apply evidence-based strategies and intervention techniques for ASD support
- Aid in implementing individualized developmental and behavioral plans
- Provide day-to-day therapeutic and behavioral support to clients
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports on client progress and activities
Primary Skills
- Knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental conditions
- Experience with evidence-based intervention techniques (e.g., ABA principles)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Behavioral observation and intervention skills
- Documentation and reporting proficiency
Secondary Skills (Good To Have)
- Experience in pediatric or early childhood settings
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
- Ability to work collaboratively with families and caregivers
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in dynamic environments
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field (preferred)
- Prior experience working with children with ASD or developmental disorders
- Basic understanding of behavioral intervention techniques
- Strong organizational and time management skills
