About the role
The primary role of the Autism Specialist/BCBA is to support the development, implementation, and refinement of programmatic and individual social and behavioral supports, using strategies based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
Responsibilities
- Provide consultation and training to teachers, staff, and families on ABA-based interventions.
- Assess students' social and behavioral needs and develop individualized support plans.
- Implement and monitor the effectiveness of these plans, adjusting as necessary.
- Collaborate with other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Conduct ongoing data collection and analysis to evaluate the impact of interventions.
- Participate in professional development activities related to ABA and special education.
Requirements
- Masters degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or closely related field.
- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
- Knowledge of ABA principles and techniques.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
- Current Massachusetts teaching license or ability to obtain one within six months.
- Experience with data collection and analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles and techniques.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
