About the role
The Autism Day Program Assistant is responsible for providing support to children with autism spectrum disorder in a therapeutic setting. This position requires strong communication skills, patience, and an understanding of autism spectrum disorders.
Responsibilities
- Support children with autism spectrum disorder in various therapeutic activities
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe, inclusive environment
- Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and strategies
- Document daily activities and observations in a timely manner
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and evenings
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Patience and ability to work with individuals who may require additional support
- Understanding of autism spectrum disorders and its impact on individuals
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)

Pay
The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $18.00 per hour.
Schedule
This position is full-time and works Monday through Friday, with some weekend and evening hours required.
