Authorization Central Scheduling Specialist

About the role

As an Authorization Specialist in our Centralized Scheduling Department, you will contact payers to request service authorization. You will also collect financial and/or demographic information from patients and clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers.

• Gather clinical information from patient charts, orders, or providers

Requirements

• Previous customer service experience
• At least two years of experience in healthcare pre-authorizations
• Familiarity with healthcare insurance processes

Qualifications

• Preferred: Associate degree in healthcare or business administration and/or related coursework
• Successful completion of courses in medical terminology and human anatomy
• Experience with EPIC information systems
