About the role

Three-year vocational training program to become a state-certified Anesthesia Technician Assistant (ATA). The program starts on April 1st. Theoretical instruction takes place at the Akademie für Gesundheit, while practical training is conducted at our two locations: St. Joseph Krankenhaus and Franziskus Krankenhaus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide empathetic and responsible support to patients throughout their entire surgical procedure.
  • Prepare patients professionally before surgery.
  • Assist in administering anesthesia and monitor vital functions during the procedure.
  • Support post-operative care to ensure a safe and comfortable recovery process.

Learning objectives

  • Training in the preparation and post-processing of anesthesia workstations.
  • Learn to provide expert care for patients, considering their physical and psychological condition during anesthesia, in the recovery room, and in outpatient settings.
  • Develop skills in the independent organization and coordination of workflows in the anesthesia department and related areas in collaboration with physicians and specialized nursing staff.
  • Gain knowledge in preparing and assisting with anesthesia, including the provision of necessary instruments, equipment, medications, and consumables.
  • Learn to support other professional groups before, during, and after surgery.

Requirements

  • High level of initiative, enthusiasm for learning, and a strong interest in the profession.
  • Intermediate school-leaving certificate (Realschulabschluss) or a secondary school-leaving certificate (Hauptschulabschluss) with a completed vocational training of at least two years or an assistant or nursing aide training of at least one year.
  • If you hold a residence permit, please include the relevant documents with your application.
  • For school-leaving qualifications obtained outside Germany, we require:
    • A language certificate at least at B2 level.
    • Recognition of your school-leaving qualification by the Berlin Senate.
    • Information regarding your residence status.
