Job Summary

As a Customer Service Assistant, you'll package groceries and help customers transport their purchases from the store to their vehicles.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions

  • Assist in unloading merchandise from baskets.
  • Package groceries; assist customers in transporting/unloading groceries to their vehicles.
  • Assist customers in locating merchandise.
  • Perform stocking and sanitation duties.
  • Gather baskets and pick up trash inside and outside the store.
  • Maintain and stock bag areas.
  • Return products to proper locations.
  • Stock and stage bags; stock check‑stand supplies.
  • Distribute Buddy bucks to registers and replace anti‑fatigue mats.
  • Handle carts & parts basket relocation and power‑wash basket relocation for department setup.
  • Perform red‑basket fill‑up and retrieval.
  • Clean, mop, dust, sweep, and vacuum check‑stand area, Return Center, and CCO area to maintain store cleanliness and safety.

Education, Licenses, and Certifications

Completion of Company Orientation and Basics of Safety training (upon hire).

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Function in a fast‑paced retail environment, performing detailed and precise tasks while working with customers and staying attentive to their needs.

  • Constantly reach at waist, grasp.
  • Frequently stand, walk.
  • Occasionally reach overhead, reach at shoulder, reach at knee, reach at floor, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, stair climb, pivot, twist, push/pull with arms, pinch, perform fine motor movements.
  • Occasionally be exposed to cold, hot, loud noises, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lift 55 lb and manage more than 55 lb (up to 100 lb).

Time spent on activities (approximate):

  • Constantly: 5.5+ hours per 8‑hour day.
  • Frequently: 2.5 – 5.5 hours per 8‑hour day.
  • Occasionally: 0 – 2.5 hours per 8‑hour day.
