AUSL Seasonal On Field Softball Staff - OKC Spark

About the role

Athletes Unlimited is seeking individuals to support the Oklahoma City Spark with day-to-day operations and event management for practices and games. The ideal candidate should have experience and familiarity with the game of softball, possess physical capabilities, and be motivated to fulfill a crucial role for a professional women's softball team.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-field duties such as chasing and corraling foul balls as a Ball Person
• Collect and return softballs in the outfield and beyond the ball park fence as a BP Shagger
• Assist in catching pitches ranging from 60-80mph as a Bullpen Catcher
• Assist with field setup and breakdown, batting practice, laundry, and other event operations

Requirements

• Team player with a positive and proactive work ethic
• Willingness to pivot between tasks and take on additional responsibilities as needed
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours when in season
• Strong preference for candidates based in the Oklahoma City area

Physical Requirements

• Perform job duties outdoors in summer weather, including exposure to heat, humidity, and direct sunlight
• Stand for duration of each shift (approximately 4 hours) while performing job-related tasks
• Prior experience playing softball, fielding live balls/bats, and the ability to anticipate and position yourself effectively in response to fast-moving plays
• Catching pitches ranging from 60-80mph, with a preference for those with college-level playing experience in the catcher position

Benefits

No additional benefits are provided. These roles are compensated at $15/hr and are contracted positions on a 1099 basis. 1099 Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and insurance coverage.
