About the role
The Senior Auditor will perform audits throughout the Bank, ensuring that adequate internal controls are in place, maintained, and functioning properly. This role also involves verifying compliance with policies, procedures, and applicable laws, as well as mentoring less experienced Associate Auditors.
Responsibilities
- Perform audits within assigned areas and generate documentation showing results and findings.
- Evaluate the adequacy of existing controls, identify weak or missing controls, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare memos and reports to communicate audit findings to line management.
- Document recommendations for audit findings requiring resolution and follow up as necessary.
- Manage exception tracking reports, ensuring data accuracy and updates.
- Work closely with the Audit Manager on projects such as risk assessments, sample selection, and challenging Audit Programs.
- Coordinate audits by assigning steps to staff, setting timelines, providing progress reports, and ensuring timely completion.
- Provide guidance to staff, including answering questions, assisting with GRC, and conducting preliminary reviews of work papers.
- Collaborate with Corporate Auditor and Audit Managers to work with Bank Examiners and external auditors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; direct experience in Audit may be substituted.
- Minimum of four (4) years of professional work in Audit.
- Experience in the Banking/Financial Services industry is required.
- CPA, CIA, CFSA, CRCM, CTA, or similar credentials are preferred.
- Prior experience with regulatory audits such as BSA and Dodd-Frank highly desired.
