About the Role

The Premium Audit Team is responsible for ensuring that the premiums charged for insurance policies accurately reflect the risk that was covered during the policy period. Their goal is to ensure audits are ordered and performed accurately and that audit endorsements are processed expeditiously. The department ensures that all audits are conducted in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies, maintaining accurate records for both internal and external review. If discrepancies arise between the carrier and the policyholder regarding the audit findings, the Premium Audit department may be involved in resolving these disputes. The Premium Audit team works closely with underwriters to provide insights and data that can inform future underwriting decisions, ensuring that the carrier appropriately prices risk.

This role is performed in a hybrid work environment and reports to the Premium Audit Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an inventory of audit disputes from beginning to resolution.
  • Review records for re-open requests to confirm all data needed has been received.
  • Perform internal audits.
  • Maintain the premium audit tracker (Excel).
  • Communicate with agents to obtain insured contact info, send upcoming audit alerts, and follow up to ensure DNOCs and current term increases are being processed.
  • Assist with answering general questions and inquiries in the shared premium audit email inbox.
  • Contact audit vendors to follow up on aging inventory and obtain status updates.
  • Calculate and process complete audits and non-productive audits as endorsements.
  • Assist the premium audit team lead as needed.
  • Review documents submitted for a potential reopen and/or perform simple audits internally.
  • Provide data entry support as well as other supportive functions, including a customer-facing role to external customers (brokers/retail agents) in answering general questions via email.
  • Work together with the Premium Audit Team lead on other premium audit duties such as reviewing audits and processing endorsements.
  • Eventually handle disputes and assist the manager with vendor management.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of Premium Auditor Experience (General Liability experience preferred)
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and is detail oriented
  • Eager to learn and develop new skills
