Auditor

Responsibilities

• Utilize accounting and auditing skills to audit state government agencies.
• Daily commuting to the office is required, no telework is allowed within the first year of employment, and minimal to no travel is required for this position.
• Perform financial and federal compliance audits.
• Conduct interviews with client personnel.
• Evaluate internal controls.
• Determine compliance with laws and regulations.
• Assess the effectiveness of operations and procedures.
• Perform specific audit procedures.
• Prepare audit working papers for the final audit report.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other business-related field.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted auditing standards, and Government Auditing Standards.

Additional Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and CAATs.
• A valid driver’s license.

Salary/Benefits

• Competitive salary - entry level $50,000 - $52,000 range; salary is commensurate with education and experience.
