About the role

The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Term Auditor (GS-0511-12) to support the Inspector General, Audit Division at Headquarters, U.S. Special Operations Command, located at MacDill AFB, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and conduct evaluations of financial accounts, special access programs, and/or management operations and controls.
  • Interpret findings and develop methods and techniques to resolve a variety of issues.
  • Knowledge of current auditing trends and practices, including generally accepted auditing standards, agency practices, policies, and functions.
  • Statistical sampling principles and techniques.

Requirements

  • Professional comprehensive knowledge of accounting, management, and auditing.
  • Knowledge of federal financial management systems and processes.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Must be able to pass a urinalysis test as part of the Air Force's drug testing program.
  • Must be able to comply with the Financial Management Level 2 Certified position requirements as per NDAA 2012.

Skills Desired

  • Knowledge of audits of policies, programs, and operations.
  • Professional comprehensive knowledge of principles, theories, techniques, and practices of accounting and management.

Benefits

This is a Term position not to exceed 13 months from date of hire. Recruitment/relocation may be considered. Current Federal civilian employees may apply, and if selected, a break in service of at least 3 calendar days may be required prior to appointment to this position. This position can close at any time.

Pay

SALARY RANGE: $89,508 - $116,362
