About the role

CohnReznick is seeking motivated, high-achieving college students who are passionate about Accounting and eager to take on new challenges. The firm helps organizations optimize performance, manage risk, and maximize value through assurance services (CohnReznick LLP) and advisory and tax services (CohnReznick Advisory LLC). This is a Winter 2028 internship (~January–March) in the Long Island, NY office.

Your team

  • Engagement Team: You will work closely on a team made up of Interns, Associates, Senior Associates, Managers, Senior Managers, and Partners.
  • Industries: Serve a variety of clients across industries including Consumer & Industrial, Financial Sponsors & Financial Services, Life Sciences & Healthcare, Public Sector, Real Estate, Renewable Energy, Technology & Media, and Private Client Services (varies by office).
  • Office: Modern office environment with amenities and collaborative spaces.
  • Performance Coach: Will meet with you to establish goals, provide feedback and support to guide you along your career path.
  • CR Friend: A designated peer who will be your go-to person as you get started, answer questions, and help you feel at home.

Responsibilities

  • Work on all aspects of an audit engagement including cash, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, searching for unrecorded liabilities, maintaining confirmation logs, and preparing audit work papers.
  • Assist with audits, reviews, compilations, and accounting services.
  • Take part in resolving audit issues by obtaining evidence and making inquiries of clients while assisting the team with daily client workflow.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting.
  • On track to complete 150 credit hours for CPA eligibility.
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA in both your major and overall.
  • Must have successfully completed Intermediate Accounting with a grade of B or higher.
  • Leadership experience in student groups, activities, or team projects.
  • Excellent communication skills and sharp critical thinking.
  • Comfortable navigating fast-paced environments and embracing change.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint, and eager to learn new technologies.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Pay

In New York, the salary for an Audit Winter Intern is $35 per hour. Salary is one component of the total rewards package, which includes access to best-in-class learning and development platforms.
