Audit Support Financial Analyst

Join our team as a financial analyst supporting the Department of Defense's goal to achieve a clean financial audit opinion by 2028. In this role, you will evaluate internal controls, assist with audit responses, perform risk analysis, and conduct ad-hoc reporting for shipyard processes and systems. This position is based in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Responsibilities

  • Support the DoD objective to receive a clean financial audit opinion by 2028.
  • Evaluate the operational design and effectiveness of internal controls for shipyard processes, programs, and systems.
  • Assist client staff in responding to internal and external audits.
  • Perform risk analysis on various business processes.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
  • Collaborate with a team of financial analysts, accountants, and budget analysts to achieve financial goals.
  • Employ business process improvements to create efficiencies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience performing financial statement audits, including internal control testing.
  • Experience with historical comparative analysis of financial records.
  • Experience with the Department of Defense or Department of Navy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, advanced charting (slicers, data visualization), reconciliations, Power Query, and macros.
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS).
  • Secret clearance (applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation).
  • HS diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Standard Accounting, Budgeting, and Reporting System (SABRS), SABRS Management Analysis Retrieval Tool (SMARTS), Advanced Analytics (ADVANA), Jupiter, SharePoint, or Navy Enterprise Resource Management (NERP).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certification.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $52,900.00 to $108,000.00 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors, including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, and contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.

Schedule

This role may be hybrid, remote, or onsite:

  • Remote: Occasional in-person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility may be required.
  • Hybrid: Frequent work from a Booz Allen facility, with potential visits to customer facilities as needed.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility, with direct collaboration required.

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings to support engagement and effective communication.
