We are looking for a detail-oriented Audit Support specialist to join a contract assignment supporting investment management operations in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will help process and organize tax return information for a large portfolio of low-income housing tax credit properties, ensuring data is entered accurately and consistently.
About the role
This opportunity is well suited for candidates with a background in finance or accounting who can learn quickly, manage deadlines, and contribute effectively in a fast-moving environment. The engagement is a short-term contract focused on seasonal tax return support for the investment management team.
Responsibilities
- Participate in initial training to learn internal workflows, data mapping standards, and required input procedures.
- Review tax return schedules for assigned properties and enter key financial information into the company’s proprietary platform.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while processing large volumes of financial and tax-related data within established timelines.
- Partner with team members to clarify missing details, resolve discrepancies, and escalate questions when needed.
- Support the timely handling of reporting materials related to low-income housing tax credit investments.
- Follow established quality standards and documentation practices throughout the data entry and review process.
Requirements
- Coursework or degree focus in finance, accounting, or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Familiarity with tax returns, financial statements, and financial reporting concepts.
- Ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven setting and absorb new processes quickly.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
- Effective communication, professionalism, and dependable time management skills.
- Availability to maintain consistent attendance for the full duration of the contract assignment.
- Experience with financial analysis, variance analysis, financial modeling, ad hoc analysis, or data review is preferred.
