Responsibilities
- Team Management: Ensure team members are assigned appropriate tasks that align with audit objectives, provide training and coaching as needed, and conduct fair and accurate performance evaluations.
- Audit Planning & Implementation: Design and modify audit plans to meet audit objectives, consult with stakeholders, and ensure plans adhere to GAGAS standards and are completed within agreed timeframes.
- Analysis and Review: Review and correct work products and work papers to ensure accuracy, completeness, and support audit conclusions, and fill any evidentiary gaps.
- Survey and Testing: Oversee survey and testing processes to ensure GAGAS mandated analysis is completed, efficiency, effectiveness, economy, and equity are measured, and recommendations are well-supported.
- Reporting: Draft portions of Exit Conference Summaries using completed finding sheets, collaborate with lead auditors, and ensure reports are accurate, clear, and logically structured.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: A baccalaureate degree with 24 credits in auditing, accounting, finance, economics, statistics, law, quantitative or qualitative research methodology, mathematics, data science, management, public or business administration, computer science/information technology, or a related field, plus one of the following: one year of full-time satisfactory experience in performance auditing according to GAGAS, a valid Certified Public Accountant license, or a valid Certified Internal Auditor certificate.
- Preferred Skills: At least three years of experience leading GAGAS performance audits, previous experience supervising small audit teams, and knowledge of NYC agency operations.
