Audit Senior - State and Local Government
About the role
CLA is a top 10 national professional services firm dedicated to creating opportunities for clients, employees, and communities through various practices including wealth advisory, digital, audit, tax, consulting, and outsourcing. The State and Local Government (SLG) practice, one of the fastest-growing within CLA, serves over 2100 local, county, and state government agencies.
Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, and execute Assurance engagements to provide excellent client service.
- Work closely with clients and decision makers while performing a wide range of assurance procedures.
- Audit complex areas/transactions and prepare financial statements and related reports.
- Research, analyze, and report on accounting, auditing, and related issues and developments.
- Schedule, delegate, and train team members to help them build inspired careers.
- Collaborate with managers/principals to ensure effective communication and service delivery.
- Develop and maintain effective client relationships.
Requirements
- You have a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- You have 2+ years of experience performing audits in the SLG industry (preferred).
- CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Experience with auditing and accounting principles.
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of auditing standards and regulations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay
The compensation range for this position varies based on location:
- In Massachusetts: $85,000.00 - $138,000.00
- In New York: $88,000.00 - $143,000.00
