About the Role

The Audit Manager II provides specialized expertise to guide the planning, risk assessment, and execution of audits. This role shapes the strategic direction of the audit function, fosters alignment with enterprise risk frameworks, and supports the broader audit strategy.

Works autonomously and is accountable for leading within a specialized audit practice area, providing work direction, and offering seasoned specialized knowledge to stakeholders and team members. May oversee complex audits and ensure their completion. The role requires knowledge of external competition, industry, and market trends, with a scope that may have enterprise impact.

Undertakes and completes complex audit projects requiring specialist knowledge and cross-functional process integration. May oversee or independently perform multiple concurrent audits from end to end, handling confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and implementation of audit programs by contributing insights and assisting with planning activities.
  • Participates in audit engagements across multiple areas, ensuring audits align with established standards and timelines.
  • Executes the development of Audit Planning Memorandum (APM), Process Risk and Control Matrix (pRCM), Findings Grid, and Audit Report.
  • Completes L1 reviews/sign off on all audit activities (e.g., walkthroughs, test scripts, test results, grid, evidence uploads).
  • Oversees or leads audits and executes follow-up of findings from internal audits and regulatory reviews in accordance with policy.
  • Leads ongoing audit communications and reporting processes with stakeholders, senior management, and external auditors.
  • Contributes to audit initiatives by providing input and assisting in the design, testing, and implementation of solutions.
  • Leads or manages the integrated implementation of policies, processes, procedures, or changes across multiple functional areas.
  • Acts as the audit lead or advisor to management and teams for areas of specialization.
  • Reports on emerging trends, identifies issues and opportunities, and recommends actions to senior management.
  • Facilitates key discussions and provides thought leadership to executive audiences.
  • Adheres to internal policies, enterprise frameworks, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Contributes to reviewing internal processes and identifying control weaknesses or opportunities for operational efficiencies.
  • Actively manages relationships with business lines, corporate, or control functions to ensure alignment with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
  • Stays abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements, assessing potential impacts to the Bank.
  • Assesses and identifies key issues, escalating to appropriate levels and stakeholders as required.
  • Maintains a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes and sound infrastructure aligned with risk appetite.
  • Participates in cross-functional or enterprise initiatives as a subject matter expert, providing guidance for complex situations.
  • Provides thought leadership and industry knowledge for areas of expertise.
  • Encourages a positive work environment promoting service, quality, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Identifies and recommends opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency.
  • Works effectively as part of a team, supporting members in achieving business objectives and providing stakeholder services.
  • Participates in knowledge transfer within the team and business units.
  • Contributes to the overall performance management process by providing coaching and input into team members' assessments on assigned audits.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading audit engagements.
  • BSA/AML/OFAC/Fraud/Insider Risk subject matter expertise.
  • CAMS/CFE certification preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Power BI, and AI to support data analysis and reporting within the audit function.

Pay

Base pay range: $92,220 - $149,310 USD. TD is committed to providing fair and equitable compensation opportunities. The base pay offered may vary based on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs.
