Audit Internship

About the role

Paid internship opportunities for students or recent graduates interested in public accounting and audit. Based in our Avon, Colorado or Florence, Alabama offices (with limited remote opportunities), the program offers practical experience working directly with audits of municipalities, special districts, and other government entities.

You won't just be observing—you'll contribute to real engagements and build foundational skills. Interns work alongside CPAs and audit managers to support fieldwork, prepare working papers, and develop insight into how strong financial systems support thriving communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with financial and compliance audits
• Prepare and organize audit documentation
• Participate in team planning and fieldwork
• Learn the fundamentals of governmental accounting

Qualifications

• Exposure to government and nonprofit accounting
• Understanding of internal controls and audit processes
• Training in relevant audit tools and reporting systems
• Opportunity to build a career in public sector finance
