Audit Intern - Winter 2026/2027

About the role

Join Perdue Foods at Corporate HQ in Salisbury, MD, for a 4-6 week internship in the Internal Audit department during Winter break 2026/2027. The Internal Audit department plays a vital role in helping the business achieve its strategic, financial, and operational objectives by evaluating and advancing the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes through consulting and assurance activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compliance testing for the Company’s SOX/Internal Controls program.
• Assist in the execution of financial, information technology, and operational audits.

Requirements

• Must be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited university in a relevant field of study (Finance, Accounting, or Information Systems majors preferred).
• Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn new software.
• Possess strong analytical, communication, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

• Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.
• May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
• May need to access files, supplies, and equipment.
• When in a plant environment:
  • Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors, including metal and plastic grating surfaces.
  • May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.
  • May handle product at 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db. to 110 db.
  • May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry and food processing facilities.
  • Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company.
  • May need to climb ladders.

Pay

This position has a target wage of $21.90 - $28.13 per hour, based on graduation year. Overtime may be available.
