About the Role
While this posting reflects our Chicago headquarters as the main location, we have offices throughout the U.S., and your actual location preference will be taken into account during the recruiting process. As an intern in Crowe’s Audit and Assurance practice, you’ll gain in-depth exposure to the auditing profession and learn about the day-to-day responsibilities of an auditor. You’ll receive guidance and work closely with experienced audit professionals, as well as exposure to issues shaping and affecting the profession today.
During your internship, you’ll sharpen your analytical skills as you audit client financials, transactions, and internal control processes. You’ll work independently and collaborate with a diverse group of talented audit professionals to deliver exceptional client service. You will use Crowe’s audit tools and technologies that leverage advanced analytics, data visualizations, and process flow automation to analyze client data and enhance client experience.
Interns will have the opportunity to work as a team member on diverse client engagements, including manufacturing and distribution, not-for-profit, government, healthcare, education, construction, dealerships, food and agriculture, insurance, and financial institution clients. You will also have the opportunity to work on benefit plan audits of 401(k), pension, or employee stock ownership plans. Responsibilities
- Audit client financials, transactions, and internal control processes
- Collaborate with a diverse team of audit professionals to deliver exceptional client service
- Utilize Crowe’s audit tools and technologies, including advanced analytics and data visualizations
- Work on diverse client engagements across multiple industries (e.g., manufacturing, not-for-profit, healthcare, financial institutions)
- Participate in benefit plan audits (e.g., 401(k), pension, employee stock ownership plans)
- Demonstrate initiative and seek on-the-job learning opportunities

Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Accounting or a similar field
- Scheduled to meet the educational requirements to obtain a CPA license (prior to starting full-time, new hires must fulfill state-specific education-related eligibility criteria)
- Strong academic credentials
- Proficient with Excel
- Experience with data analytics is strongly desired
- Relevant work experience (e.g., internships, summer positions, school jobs)
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work on multiple assignments
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment with professionals of all levels
- Willingness to travel
Pay
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $27.00 - $42.00 per hour, taking into account factors such as skill sets, experience, training, licensure, certifications, and business needs.
