About the role

We are seeking an experienced audit professional to serve as a Permanent Audit Director in our Assurance & Advisory department, focusing on government and nonprofit sectors. This role involves leading audit engagements, developing client relationships, and ensuring high-quality audit services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multiple audit engagements, ensuring quality service delivery to government and nonprofit clients.
• Maintain and develop strong client relationships to understand business needs and provide solutions.
• Provide technical guidance on audit and assurance matters, particularly related to GAAP and the nonprofit sector.
• Develop audit plans and strategies by understanding organization objectives, structure, policies, processes, internal controls, and external regulations.
• Review audit work papers and financial statements for compliance with professional and firm standards.
• Supervise, coach, and mentor staff at all levels; conduct performance reviews and contribute to training.
• Stay updated on current business and economic developments relevant to clients' industries.
• Participate in business development initiatives to contribute to firm growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification is required.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in public accounting, with at least 2 years in a leadership role, focusing on auditing government and nonprofit entities.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience with financial statement preparation and audits.
• Proven experience as a supervisor or team leader, with a track record of mentoring and developing staff.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead multiple time-sensitive projects.
• Exceptional client service skills, with the ability to address client needs effectively.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• High level of integrity and professionalism, with discretion in handling confidential information.

Pay

$220,000 - $270,000 per year
