About the role

The Auditor's office seeks an individual to perform administrative tasks such as maintaining the front desk, answering calls, distributing mail, scheduling meetings, managing office supplies, and maintaining office machines. This position also involves processing requisitions, receiving goods/services, submitting invoices, working with the payroll department, filing contracts and agreements, scanning and filing documents, preparing reports, and participating in emergency management activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain front desk and answer incoming calls
  • Distribute mail and schedule meetings
  • Keep inventory of office supplies and maintain office machines
  • Process all requisitions for the office and other funding areas as needed
  • Receive goods and/or services in the system and submit invoices for payment on all purchase orders
  • Work with the Payroll department on any issues with payroll
  • File an electronic copy of all County contracts and agreements and maintain a catalog for use of the Auditor's office and outside auditors
  • Prepare miscellaneous reports and journal entries to assist the accountants
  • Participate in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years job-related experience with a focus in Accounting or Bookkeeping preferred
  • Excellent computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM)
  • Bookkeeping and accounting skills
  • Good written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others

Starting salary range: $20.50 - $25.63 hourly based on qualifications
