Audit Analyst

About the role

Blake Willson Group is seeking a detail-oriented Real Property Analyst to support federal audit readiness efforts through real property documentation validation, record reconciliation, and remediation activities across federal facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting audits, reviewing documentation, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining accurate records. This role will support State Assistance Visits (SAVs), audit preparation, and facility accountability efforts by ensuring property data, documentation, and inspection results are complete and accurate.

This position is primarily remote; however, travel will be required, with an estimated travel commitment of approximately 35%. Must have an active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Review and organize facility documentation, including photos, surveys, acquisition/disposal packets, and other supporting records.
• Support validation, cleanup, and remediation activities to improve the accuracy and completeness of real property records.
• Perform completeness checks to identify missing documentation, duplicate records, and inconsistencies within property data.
• Assist with reconciling Automated Property System of Record (APSR) data and validating property information against supporting documentation.
• Support State Assistance Visits (SAVs), onsite and virtual inspections, found-on-site checks, and completeness surveys through documentation collection and detailed note-taking.
• Maintain remediation logs, status updates, and SAV report inputs to support audit tracking and reporting requirements.
• Utilize tools such as Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, or similar platforms to track progress and support reporting activities.
• Maintain organized documentation using established naming conventions and federal recordkeeping standards.
• Coordinate with State personnel, facility managers, auditors, and internal teams to collect information and resolve documentation gaps.
• Support high-volume travel requirements during Base Year State Assistance Visits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience supporting federal financial audits, compliance reviews, inventory validations, or related audit readiness activities.
• 1+ year of experience reviewing, validating, and reconciling documentation, records, or data to identify discrepancies and ensure completeness.
• 1+ year of experience supporting data tracking, reporting, remediation activities, or documentation management using tools such as Excel, SharePoint, or Power BI.

Skills

• Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform tools, including Power BI, Power Apps, or SharePoint automation.
• Prior experience supporting audits, inventory checks, compliance reviews, or quality assurance activities.
• Experience supporting federal government clients.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify data inconsistencies and maintain accurate records.
