Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality diagnostic testing, advanced audiologic services, and personalized hearing-aid care while supporting a warm, supportive clinical environment.
  • Contribute to community outreach, participate in student education or supervision, and have the opportunity to engage in clinical research.
  • Perform special duties by developing unique skills and taking on special responsibilities to enhance the department.
  • Demonstrate service excellence in interactions with patients, visitors, staff, peers, physicians, and other departments.
  • Ensure test equipment is well-maintained by monitoring for malfunctions and reporting issues to the Senior Audiologist, Director, or service contractor.
  • Administer routine Audiology tests and interpret test results for effective management.
  • Demonstrate competence in administering at least five tests beyond the basic audiologic test battery.
  • Provide additional hearing-aid services, including fitting, evaluation, and counseling.
  • Contribute a minimum of two hours per year to didactic instruction for medical students or residents, or ten hours of supervision for residents or Audiology Students.
  • Participate in at least one public hearing screening program or similar extramural public relations activity annually.
  • Select and fit appropriate hearing aids, evaluate their effectiveness, and provide counseling for proper use.
  • Engage in clinical research projects as requested by the Director, handling data collection, analysis, and documentation.

Qualifications

A Master's degree or AUD (clinical doctorate) in Audiology is required.

Skills and Certifications

  • Audiology State License in the practicing state (20 hours of continuing education every two years)
  • Licensed Clinical Audiologist
  • Audiologists maintain privileges at all satellite hospitals and maintain provider privileges (including Medicare UPIN #'s) for all accepted insurance products
