AUDIOLOGIST
About the role
This position involves diagnosing, treating, and managing individuals with hearing loss or balance problems. It also includes evaluating auditory function, vestibular system, and performing advanced electrophysiologic tests. The role requires interpreting test results, counseling patients, providing hearing aid services, assisting with cochlear implant evaluations, educating patients, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and managing patient appointments.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates auditory function using diagnostic audiologic tests such as pure tone and speech testing, immittance testing, and otoacoustic emission testing.
- Evaluates vestibular system with videonystamography (VNG) procedures.
- Performs advanced electrophysiologic tests including Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR) testing and Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potential (VEMP) testing.
- Interprets test results and counsels patients on their hearing care needs.
- Provides hearing aid services including evaluation, dispensing, and adjustments.
- Assists with Cochlear Implant evaluation, device selection, and counseling.
- Educates patients about hearing health, treatment options, and preventive measures.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, including otolaryngologists, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintains efficient patient appointment management, follow-ups, and documentation.
- Mentors and provides direction to Audiology doctoral students.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctorate Degree in Audiology from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Massachusetts’ Audiologist license.
- Attainment of the Certificate of Clinical Competence within six months of date of hire.
- Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Audiology.
- Demonstrated skill in analyzing problems and making decisions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with all members of the healthcare team.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in Audiology, preferably 1 year.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
The position requires work indoors in a patient care and normal office environment. It is considered sedentary work.

Pay
$75,379.20 - $135,699.20
