About the Role

The Speech & Hearing Center is seeking a Chattanooga-based audiologist to deliver diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing aid dispensing, and follow-up care in a nonprofit setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive diagnostic hearing evaluations.
  • Conduct vestibular and balance assessments for patients across the lifespan, as appropriate.
  • Analyze test findings and make recommendations based on the customer’s needs.
  • Maintain accurate patient records noting appropriate background information, responses, and progress.
  • Provide written reports and progress notes and identify differential diagnosis.
  • Recommend and dispense assistive listening and hearing solutions.
  • Educate patients in how to use and maintain hearing aid devices, provide demonstrations, and share information.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary providers to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
  • Educate and support patients and families regarding hearing health, hearing loss, balance disorders, and next steps in care.
  • Make follow-up calls to patients to ensure satisfaction with their assistive listening and hearing devices.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with management, support team, and partner organizations.

Requirements

  • Au.D. or Master's degree in audiology.
  • ASHA certificate of clinical competence.
  • Current hearing aid dispensing and audiology licensure.
  • Proficiency with a variety of hearing aid manufacturer software and hardware.
  • Proven track record in hearing aid sales.
  • Connection to the mission of serving those with hearing and/or communication disorders.

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including a strong customer service mindset.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office business suite.
