Responsibilities
- Provide bedside clinical care to patients from the disabled to the elderly in skilled nursing facilities.
- Accurately diagnose and treat hearing conditions using mobile audiology equipment.
- Dispense, program, maintain, and repair hearing aids.
- Perform cerumen removal and other related procedures.
- Recommend appropriate patient follow-up and care options.
- Deliver outstanding customer service through all patient interactions.
- Attend clinics solo; responsible for all electronic progress note documentation and emailing completed notes to facilities.
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Experience in medical-based hearing care, including wax removal, tympanometry, hearing tests, and hearing aid dispenses.
- Ability to travel up to 2 hours one way to different skilled nursing facilities.
- Capable of working independently and managing all aspects of a clinic visit, including charting and note-taking.
Qualifications
- Audiology degree or equivalent certification.
- Current state licensure as an Audiologist or Hearing Instrument Specialist.
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a long-term care environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
