Audio Video Senior Project Manager

ME Engineers · Denver Metropolitan Area · 3 days ago
HybridFull-time

About the Role

You will lead Audio, Video, and Broadcast designs on some of the most visible venues being built in the United States: professional stadiums and arenas, major collegiate facilities, and the complex renovations that keep iconic buildings relevant. You will set the vision with the owner, steer a team through all major decisions, and stay with the project until the systems are commissioned and the building is live. This is a role for someone who is energized by the moment a client turns to you in a room full of people and asks what we should do.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple large-scale audio-video and broadcast projects from programming and concept design through construction, integration, and commissioning.
  • Serve as the primary technical voice to owners, architects, venue operators, broadcasters, and contractors.
  • Set project requirements, design direction, scope, deliverables, and priorities, then hold the team to them.
  • Lead and develop project teams comprising design engineers, designers, and subject-matter experts.
  • Direct the design of large format bowl audio, distributed audio, video distribution and IPTV, LED display systems, video production and broadcast infrastructure, control systems, DSP, and AV networks.
  • Coordinate audio-video and broadcast systems with architecture, structural, electrical, mechanical, IT, security, and low-voltage trades.
  • Review drawings, specifications, narratives, equipment selections, and cost estimates before they leave the office.
  • Lead client workshops, design presentations, and milestone reviews.
  • Provide technical leadership through bidding, construction administration, integration, testing, and commissioning.
  • Participate in pursuits, interviews, and proposals, and build the client relationships that carry into the next project.
  • Help shape ME Engineers' technical standards and mentor the engineers coming up behind you.

Requirements

  • Ten or more years in professional Audio Video consulting, design, engineering, or integration.
  • Delivered stadiums, arenas, large public assembly facilities, or projects of similar complexity and visibility.
  • A track record managing multidisciplinary teams and large Audio Video scopes.
  • Fluency in the design and construction process, including how a design decision impacts a submittal, an RFI, and a punch item.
  • Strong command of large format sound systems, DSP, control, IPTV, AV networking, broadcast systems, and venue infrastructure.
  • The judgment and presence to lead a room, and the communication skills to make a complex recommendation land with a nontechnical owner.

Qualifications

  • Experience in the design or operation of sports venues, or other facilities of equal complexity.
  • Working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110, Dante, AES67, Q-SYS, HDR video, and IP-based media systems.
  • Existing relationships with professional sports organizations, venue operators, or major sports architects.
  • CTS, CTS-D, PE, or comparable credentials (preferred, not required).
