Audio Video- Engineer

ME Engineers · Denver Metropolitan Area · 4 days ago
HybridFull-time

About the Role

You will architect complex audio-video and broadcast systems for stadiums, arenas, entertainment venues, and large public assembly facilities. You will determine how a venue sounds, distributes content, produces a show, and hands off a clean signal to broadcast. You will develop the design, model it, document it, and present it to owners and architects. This role is ideal for an engineer who wants genuine ownership, enjoys solving complex problems, and prefers to see a design through to commissioning rather than handing it off midway.

Responsibilities

  • Design complex audio-video and broadcast systems for large venues, from concept through construction documents.
  • Develop system architecture for large format sound reinforcement, distributed audio, DSP, control, IPTV and video distribution, LED displays, video production, intercom, AV networks, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Produce Revit and AutoCAD documentation: system plans, one-line diagrams, equipment layouts, details, narratives, specifications, equipment lists, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate directly with architects, engineers, IT teams, contractors, manufacturers, and other consultants.
  • Present your work in client meetings and technical design workshops.
  • Lead portions of projects and direct the work of Design Engineer I staff.
  • Review submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings during construction.
  • Perform site observations, system testing, commissioning, and performance verification.
  • Research emerging technologies and integrate them into the firm's design process.
  • Mentor early career engineers and contribute to internal design standards and detail library.

Requirements

  • Five or more years in professional Audio Video consulting, engineering, design, or integration.
  • Demonstrated experience designing complex commercial or large venue Audio Video systems.
  • Strong grounding in professional audio, video, control, DSP, networking, and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and construction documentation workflows.
  • Ability to independently produce coordinated, buildable documentation without constant oversight.
  • Clear communication skills and willingness to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the design or operation of sports venues or other facilities of equal complexity.
  • Expertise with Q-SYS, Dante, AES67, SMPTE ST 2110, HDR, IPTV, and IP-based media technologies.
  • Acoustic modeling experience in EASE or a comparable platform.
  • CTS-D or comparable certifications.
