About the role

The Audiology Technician at Starkey Retail provides support within a clinic/office to help licensed audiologists/hearing aid specialists. The role involves monitoring and facilitating testing with patients, cleaning/adjusting hearing aids under supervision, and supporting the provider in various customer service, sales, marketing, operational, and administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain patient management software, track orders/sales, and create daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  • Answer and direct calls in a timely, professional manner.
  • Schedule and confirm full audiometric evaluations and other appointments.
  • Support marketing initiatives and follow up on referrals from physicians.
  • Enter daily activity in patient management software, organize office, maintain supplies, and ensure accurate patient files.
  • Protect patient privacy, collect insurance information, and complete insurance authorizations.
  • Assist the licensed professional with counseling and cleaning of hearing instruments, monitor and facilitate hearing testing, and maintain day-to-day operational procedures.
  • Report information to Regional Support Specialist for insurance billing, send thank you cards for referrals and sales, make deposits, and maintain cashbox.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of customer service/patient care experience and/or one year of office management.
  • Ability to develop knowledge of software systems including Excel, Word, and Sycle.net.
  • Good problem-solving, analytical, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage all confidential information with complete discretion.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to patient care and licensure.

Skills

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
