Audience Services Manager (Part-Time)
About the Role
Columbia College Chicago is seeking an Audience Services Manager to oversee box office and house management duties for all four Getz Theatre Center venues. This part-time union position reports to the production manager and involves supervising student workers, collaborating with production and administrative staff, and working varied hours, including evenings and afternoons for performances.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile cash and credit for box office purchases, deposit online payments.
- Interact with faculty, staff, and students to arrange complimentary ticket reservations.
- Facilitate audience ticket purchases, refunds, and provide performance information.
- Solicit and schedule ushers and box office attendants.
- Attend public performances as the front-of-house, on-site supervisor.
- Monitor audience access to performance spaces and handle audience-related issues.
- Coordinate staffing for pre-show lectures, special performances, and post-show discussions.
- Facilitate communication between theatre spaces, stage managers, and security to ensure safe audience procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in performance or arts management, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of audience services or retail experience.
- Proficiency with ticketing software.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Strong collaborative, interpersonal, organizational, and supervisory skills.
Pay
The hourly salary range for this position is $22.60 to $27.00. Actual compensation is dependent on experience, education, and department budget.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with hours varying based on the performance/production schedule, up to 25 hours per week. The role is overtime eligible.
