Job Details

Responsibilities

  • Representing clients in all aspects of workers' compensation cases
  • Conducting thorough case research and investigation
  • Gathering evidence and developing strong legal strategies
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements
  • Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients
  • Presenting cases at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Staying updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to workers' compensation and insurance defense
  • Collaborating with team members, paralegals, and other staff

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the North Carolina State Bar and in good standing
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation law, with a focus on insurance defense
  • Exceptional knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage a large caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Excellent research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently
