Job Details
Responsibilities
- Representing clients in all aspects of workers' compensation cases
- Conducting thorough case research and investigation
- Gathering evidence and developing strong legal strategies
- Preparing and drafting legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and agreements
- Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients
- Presenting cases at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
- Staying updated on current laws, regulations, and industry trends related to workers' compensation and insurance defense
- Collaborating with team members, paralegals, and other staff
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the North Carolina State Bar and in good standing
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation law, with a focus on insurance defense
- Exceptional knowledge of workers' compensation laws and procedures
- Proven ability to manage a large caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Excellent research, analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team, as well as independently
