  • Maintain control of client relationships and determine how matters are managed and delegated
  • Handle cases from initial evaluation through final resolution
  • Oversee client communication, discovery, depositions, hearings, trial preparation, and related case strategy
  • Manage approximately 25–40 active matters when handling insurance defense cases
  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple states when matters align with the firm’s existing insurance practice
  • Develop and expand client relationships across additional jurisdictions and service areas
  • Participate in business development, speaking engagements, seminars, conferences, and client education programs
  • Meet an annual billable expectation of 1,860 hours, with approved marketing and business development activities counting toward the requirement
  • Use ProLaw to manage case information, deadlines, billing, and documentation
  • Proactively raise concerns, ask for support when needed, and take responsibility for work product and client outcomes

Requirements

  • Active bar membership in the state where the attorney practices
  • Established and portable book of business
  • Approximately $200,000–$300,000 in portable business for an insurance-related practice
  • At least $750,000 in portable business for a practice area that would require the firm to establish a new department
  • Experience managing cases and client relationships independently
  • Ability to handle matters from inception through resolution
  • Strong client development, relationship management, and business-building capabilities
  • Willingness to complete a conflict check and verify the book of business
  • Collaborative, proactive, accountable, and comfortable working in a remote environment
  • Strong judgment, professional integrity, and the ability to address challenges directly
  • Insurance subrogation experience is strongly preferred
  • Insurance defense experience is welcomed, subject to conflict clearance
  • Attorneys from other litigation or transactional practices will be considered based on book size, compatibility, and growth potential

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Customized compensation structure based on the attorney’s book of business, experience, and practice area
  • Origination compensation generally ranging from 5%–15% of collected fees, with additional flexibility for the right candidate
  • Fully remote work arrangement available anywhere in the United States
  • Flexible schedules, including 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., or 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.
  • Flexible vacation policy
