Responsibilities
- Manage plaintiff personal injury cases from intake through resolution
- Evaluate liability, damages, and overall litigation strategy
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal correspondence
- Prepare for and conduct depositions
- Prepare and respond to written discovery
- Attend court hearings and argue motions
- Represent clients in mediations and settlement negotiations
- Prepare cases for trial and serve as first-chair trial counsel when appropriate
- Work with experts, investigators, clients, medical providers, and other case professionals
- Monitor case deadlines and ensure compliance with Massachusetts / Connecticut court rules and filing requirements
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active Massachusetts / Connecticut Bar admission and good standing
- 4-6 years of Massachusetts litigation experience
- Significant plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience
- Experience independently managing cases through all phases of litigation
- First-chair trial experience preferred
- Strong deposition, motion practice, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills
- Strong knowledge of Massachusetts court procedures, rules, filing requirements, discovery obligations, and deadlines
Qualifications
- Substantial Massachusetts / Connecticut litigation experience is mandatory
- Candidates must have hands-on experience litigating matters in Massachusetts / Connecticut courts
- Candidates whose experience is primarily transactional, administrative, insurance defense support, or in jurisdictions outside Massachusetts will not be considered
