About the role

The Attorney will provide legal assistance to reentry individuals, working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to record clearing services. They will also supervise volunteers in a clinic setting, including in a pre-clinic phase and a post-clinic phase. This position is based at the DOORS Community Reentry Center in South Los Angeles and involves collaboration with community-based organizations and county agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal assistance to reentry individuals

  • Collaborate with community-based organizations and county agencies to provide holistic services to re-entry individuals

Requirements

  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in legal advocacy and community lawyering
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for serving the most vulnerable members of the community

Qualifications

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Member in good standing of the California Bar
  • At least 3 years of relevant legal experience
  • Experience working with reentry populations preferred

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay

$85,000 - $95,613.44 / annually DOE, with excellent benefits
