About the role
The Attorney will provide legal assistance to reentry individuals, working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to record clearing services. They will also supervise volunteers in a clinic setting, including in a pre-clinic phase and a post-clinic phase. This position is based at the DOORS Community Reentry Center in South Los Angeles and involves collaboration with community-based organizations and county agencies.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal assistance to reentry individuals
- Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to record clearing services
- Supervise volunteers in a clinic setting, including in a pre-clinic phase and a post-clinic phase
- Collaborate with community-based organizations and county agencies to provide holistic services to re-entry individuals
Requirements
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in legal advocacy and community lawyering
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for serving the most vulnerable members of the community
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
- Member in good standing of the California Bar
- At least 3 years of relevant legal experience
- Experience working with reentry populations preferred

- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Pay
$85,000 - $95,613.44 / annually DOE, with excellent benefits
