Attorney

Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking an experienced attorney to join our dynamic legal team and apply multiple areas of expertise to the diverse business challenges of a global hedge fund.

About the role

The right candidate will engage in multiple substantive areas and take on a wide variety of responsibilities, including regulatory advice, negotiation of transactions and agreements, investment-related legal advice, and general corporate work. Candidates should be curious and driven with a desire to learn about all aspects of an investment firm.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory advice
• Negotiate transactions and agreements
• Offer investment-related legal advice
• Handle general corporate work

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in some or all of the areas mentioned above
• Big law firm and/or asset management firm experience (a plus)
• Strong academic credentials and the desire to work with academically-oriented colleagues
• High ethical standards, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, quantitative reasoning ability, and a rigorous work ethic

Pay

Base Salary: $220k–$270k per year, plus significant bonus, depending on experience.
