Attorney

About the role

We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. Our Irvine and Los Angeles office is seeking an Attorney with at least two years’ experience to handle a wide array of complex civil litigation matters including, but not limited to, employment litigation, habitability, premises liability, and other landlord-tenant disputes.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal representation to clients, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients appropriately
• Review documents and guide clients through the eviction process
• Provide legal advice through phone consultations, emails, and video conferences
• Draft legal correspondence, including letters and notices
• Litigate unlawful detainer trials throughout Southern California courts
• Draft pre-trial motions and pleadings
• Represent the firm internally and externally
• Complete project-based work and additional duties as needed to support the practice group
• This position has a billable hour goal of 1650 hours p/year

Qualifications

• J.D. and an active California Bar license
• 3-10 years of civil litigation experience
• General knowledge of civil litigation and landlord-tenant law
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Trial experience
• Employment Law and/or Employment Litigation experience
• Experience in the rental housing industry
• Lexis/Westlaw experience
• Experience with case management and/or document management systems

Pay

$135k-$225k annually (DOE)

Schedule

Full-time, exempt
Business hours: 8:30am-5:30pm Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-5:00pm Friday
