Attorney Associate

Responsibilities

• Provides legal analysis and consultation to business partners on evolving legal impacts.
• Partners with business to determine goals, assess risks, and provide creative solutions.
• Identifies and analyzes legal issues and risks, presenting clear opinions, advice, and recommendations.
• Ensures legal compliance across all areas of the enterprise.
• Drafts a variety of legal documents and memos, opinions, and pleadings under guidance from attorneys or senior attorneys.
• Serves as internal counsel for substantive areas of law, learning unfamiliar areas of law as needed.
• Develops and maintains productive working relationships with business partners.
• Affords support and counsel to business partners in identifying and evaluating business objectives, legal risks, and liabilities.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree in Law required.
• Must be a member in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan or have the ability to become one upon hiring.
• Up to 6 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Highly developed sense of ethics, integrity, discretion, and judgment.
• Ability to develop rapport and gain confidence with business partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear legal analysis and opinions.
• Working knowledge of analyzing, interpreting, and writing contracts, interpreting statutes, governmental regulations, and other legal materials.
