Job Description

As an Attic Insulation Technician, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining insulation materials in residential and commercial attic spaces. This role requires a combination of technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation: Install various types of insulation materials according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Preparation: Prepare attic spaces for insulation installation by clearing debris, sealing air leaks, and ensuring proper ventilation.
  • Application: Apply insulation materials using appropriate methods, such as blowing, spraying, or laying batts, to achieve the desired R-value and thermal performance.
  • Sealing and Caulking: Seal gaps, cracks, and penetrations in attic surfaces using caulk, foam sealant, or other sealing materials to prevent air leakage and enhance insulation effectiveness.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while working at heights and handling insulation materials, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of chemicals.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of completed insulation installations to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers professionally, addressing any questions or concerns they may have about the insulation process and providing recommendations for energy-saving measures.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including job specifications, materials used, and any issues encountered during the installation process.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain insulation equipment, tools, and vehicles to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
