About the role

The Attending Psychiatrist at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) provides psychiatric evaluations, formulations, and direct clinical care in various settings including Crisis, Emergency, Inpatient, Outpatient, Consults, Community, and Outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessments and treatments for children, adolescents, and their families in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Support the clinical and administrative operations of the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Supervise and teach Child Psychiatry residents, general psychiatry residents, other specialties requiring psychiatry training, and medical students.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support the development of flexible staffing and leadership across areas.
  • Participate in quality management initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of patient and family satisfaction.
  • Support the implementation of information systems to support clinical care needs, patient appointment scheduling, and patient documentation.

Requirements

The Attending Psychiatrist position requires a Doctorate Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry within 36 months of employment.
