Attending Physician (Long Term Care)
About the role
Regularly attend the Care Community
Accountable to the Medical Director for meeting the Home policies, standards, and protocols of medical care
Access, plan, implement and evaluate the resident's medical care, develop a medical plan of treatment for the resident and participate in the interdisciplinary approach to care
Document in the resident’s electronic health record upon admission and at each subsequent visit where medical services are provided to maintain continuity and ongoing evaluation of all medical services as they relate to clinical diagnosis
Provide or make arrangements for reasonable on-call coverage for residents for whom he or she provides medical care
IPAC awareness and leadership
Develop quality of care standards in conjunction with the Care Community and interdisciplinary team

Requirements
Attending Physician licensed to practice medicine in the Province of Ontario and at all times be a member in good standing of the Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
Experience working in Long Term Care or as an Attending Physician is preferred
Ability to build trust, adapt, provide coaching, facilitate change and continually improve resident care
Ability to interact with staff, residents, families and external partners
