Attendant - The Market (Part-Time)

About the role

The Attendant supports the daily operations of the retail and café spaces, ensuring a seamless and welcoming guest experience. This role is responsible for maintaining inventory across all guest-facing and operational zones, including cold cases, retail shelves, wine displays, and behind-the-counter essentials.

Responsibilities

• Operates the coffee machine with consistency and professionalism, delivering quality beverages promptly while also preparing and serving takeout and on-premises orders with accuracy and care.
• Maintains multiple responsibilities in a dynamic, high-volume environment, ensuring the store remains clean, organized, and visually aligned with Sea Island standards throughout the day.
• Communicates clearly and warmly with guests and team members, contributing to a positive and collaborative atmosphere.
• Consistently upholds and ensures compliance with departmental procedures, including standards for quality, timing, attendance, appearance.
• Ensures all Sea Island safety protocols are consistently met.
• Maintains situational awareness of the surroundings, keeping an eye on all areas for tidiness and any general maintenance issues, ensuring that all are corrected or reported immediately.
• Supports and resolves service issues in a timely and positive manner, following up as needed.
• Aids when needed and helps with other areas or duties as requested.
• Executes other duties as delegated by leadership.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English
• A High School Diploma or equivalent competency
• Ability to effectively operate a Point of Sales system
• Ability to accurately handle financial transactions - cash, credit cards, and house accounts
• If applicable, ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
• Ability to lift, carry, pull, and push up to 50 lbs intermittently throughout a shift
• Flexibility to work days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
