Responsibilities

  • Represents Mayo Clinic as one of the first contact points a patient or visitor will encounter upon arriving to campus, serving as a critical team member in facilitating patient visits.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, effective communication and listening skills, empathy, and the ability to interact effectively with patients, visitors, family members, and others.
  • Establishes and maintains a courteous, respectful, and helpful demeanor while assisting and engaging with patients, visitors, and other Mayo Clinic personnel.
  • Verifies patient appointments and communicates with colleagues to gather appointment details.
  • Understands and enforces institutional visitor policy, following designated screening script and process flows.
  • Enforces entrance utilization and related policies (e.g., masking, badging).
  • Greets patients and visitors and assists in navigation.
  • Monitors patient and visitor flow within the building.
  • Remains calm and composed during stressful situations and effectively de-escalates conflict.
  • May have view-only access to the electronic health record to support verifying information.
  • Assists with wheelchair and stretcher transportation, providing directions, delivering specimens, and making special pick-ups and deliveries for internal departments and off-site facilities.
  • Drives Mayo Clinic vehicles to make courier runs to the Hospital, off-site Regional Practices, and Records warehouse, and provides shuttle transportation for Mayo employees between the Hospital, Clinic, and Regional Practices.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma/GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of previous experience either through paid or educational experiences demonstrating customer service, teamwork, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and abilities.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record required.
  • Evidence of conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Evidence of problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills and abilities.

Pay

$20.00 - $23.16 / hour

Schedule

  • Full Time
  • Hours/Pay Period: 80
  • Schedule Details: Monday - Friday 11:45am - 8:15pm. Additional overtime as needed for operational coverage to ensure patient care. Clinic hours are Monday-Friday 5:30am-10:00pm.
  • Weekend work is not applicable unless needed by departmental request.
