Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Connections
About the role
The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) offers unique research opportunities to highly-talented scientists to engage in ongoing NASA research projects at a NASA Center, NASA Headquarters, or at a NASA-affiliated research institute. These one- to three-year fellowships are competitive and are designed to advance NASA’s missions in space science, Earth science, aeronautics, space operations, exploration systems, and astrobiology.
Responsibilities
This research opportunity seeks applicants that are interested in global-scale gaseous chemical mechanism development related to ozone, methane, reactive carbon and nitrogen species, and investigating Earth system processes related to vegetation, the ocean, fires, and/or ice, and the impacts on oxidation, air pollution, climate forcing, and stratospheric processes, such as heterogeneous chemistry and multiphase chemistry, via atmospheric chemistry. A strong background or interest in modeling is required.
