Consultant Expectations
- Lead discovery sessions with client stakeholders to understand business requirements, pain points, and processes.
- Translate these needs into scalable, robust, and best-practice solutions within the Atlassian suite (Jira Software, Jira Service Management, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.).
- Arcitect, plan, and execute complex Atlassian migrations. This includes server-to-cloud, data center-to-cloud, and tool consolidation projects.
- Manage all phases of the migration lifecycle, from pre-migration assessment and planning to execution, data validation, and post-migration support.
- Design and implement sophisticated integrations between Atlassian products and third-party tools (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, CRM, ITSM platforms, reporting solutions).
- Leverage REST APIs, webhooks, and marketplace apps to create seamless, automated workflows across the enterprise toolchain.
- Perform hands-on configuration of Atlassian applications, including project schemes, complex workflows, custom fields, screen schemes, permission schemes, and notifications.
- Develop and deploy solutions that support Agile (Scrum, Kanban), ITSM/ITIL, DevOps, and other business methodologies.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of client Atlassian environments to identify performance bottlenecks, security vulnerabilities, and areas for improvement.
- Provide actionable recommendations to enhance stability, usability, and governance.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, building strong relationships and providing expert guidance.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Manage project scope, expectations, and timelines effectively.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to Praecipio's internal knowledge base.
What We Look For
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Atlassian Engineer, Administrator, or Consultant in a large-scale, enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated, in-depth experience planning and executing complex migrations (Server to Cloud, DC to Cloud, instance consolidations) for Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket.
- Extensive experience with tooling and advanced configuration of Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence, including a deep understanding of schemes, workflows, and permissions.
- Proven expertise in designing and implementing integrations using marketplace apps (e.g., ScriptRunner, eazyBI, Structure, Xray) and custom solutions via REST APIs.
- Strong understanding of IT and business frameworks such as Agile (SAFe, Scrum), DevOps, and ITSM/ITIL.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) to automate tasks and extend Atlassian tool functionality.
- Certifications (Highly Desired): Atlassian Certified in Jira Project Administration (ACP-JPA), Atlassian Certified in Jira Administration for Cloud (ACP-JCA) or Data Center (ACP-JAD), Atlassian Certified in Agile Development with Jira Software (ACP-JSW), Atlassian Certified in Jira Service Management (ACP-JSM), Atlassian Certified System Administrator (ACP-ASA).
- Other relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, PMP, SAFe Agilist) are a plus.
