Athletics Facilities Maintenance Aide
Provides routine administrative support to a department or group of professionals in support of department goals, with a focus on maintaining and preparing athletic facilities and equipment.
About the Role
Assists with day-to-day maintenance and repair of various indoor and outdoor athletic facilities as well as equipment set-up and take-down and venue preparation for athletic practice, competitions, and events. Position adheres to NCAA and conference rules and regulations, as well as the policies and procedures of the department, the University, and the Arizona Board of Regents.
Responsibilities
- Set-up and take down athletic equipment both indoors and outdoors.
- Various athletic field landscaping tasks.
- Measuring, taping, chalking, and/or painting lines and boundaries of courts and fields.
- Various painting projects.
- Repairing and replacing items in facilities.
- Assisting with the inventory.
- Keeping an accurate record of hours worked and submit correct payroll information and documents by state deadline.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma and two years (2) experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved.
- This position may require driving. Employee must possess a valid US Driver’s license of the appropriate class and required endorsements throughout employment.
Qualifications
- Experience working in sports or sports-related field and knowledge of the various field or court dimensions and layouts preferred.
- Skill in using landscaping equipment and tools and basic building repair tools.
- Evidence of written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete assignments with little or no supervision.
- Experience using painting machine/equipment a plus.
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations a plus.
Working Environment
- Activities are performed in various athletic facilities both indoor and outdoor, in extreme weather conditions, and are subject to extended periods of standing and walking moderate distances to perform work.
- Use of landscaping, painting, and household tools and equipment.
- Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Tasks require the ability to clearly communicate verbally, read, write, see, and hear to perform essential functions.
- Shift needs may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
$20.00 USD Hourly
